Expectations for Student Participants & their Teachers/Guardians
1. The Project Area of Founders Hall is closed to the public from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Only judges and Science Fair staff are
permitted. Students may only enter the Project Area during their assigned time for final judging, as indicated on the Science
Fair schedule.
2. Students are expected to stand quietly by their projects during project judging. Participants who are being loud or
disruptive may be asked to leave the judging area by the Science Fair Director and their project will not be eligible to
receive prizes or awards.
3. Students are expected to be standing by their projects and ready to be interviewed when the judges or judging team
arrives. It is not the responsibility of the judges to find participants.
4. The interview is the most significant portion of the judge’s scorecard. Therefore, students will be interviewed with no
assistance from adults or electronic devices.
5. Display & Safety Inspections: Before judging begins, each project undergoes a Display & Safety Inspection. This review
ensures that all projects comply with the fair’s display regulations and safety guidelines, including size limitations, prohibited
materials, and appropriate use of electronic devices. Projects must successfully pass this inspection before they are eligible to
be judged. If any issues are identified, students may be asked to make adjustments to their display to ensure compliance and
maintain a safe and fair environment for all participants.
