DIRECTOR’S NOTE
Bringing The Prince of Egypt to the stage has been an
incredible journey for our cast, crew, and community.
From the very beginning of the rehearsal process,
this cast has worked remarkably well together.
Their commitment to the story, to one another, and
to the countless hours of rehearsal has created an
environment filled with encouragement, collaboration,
and shared purpose.
This production has also been one of the most technically challenging shows
we have undertaken. From the sweeping scope of the story to the staging,
music, and visual elements, it has required creativity, perseverance, and a
tremendous amount of teamwork. I am continually amazed by the dedication
of our students and production volunteers as they worked to bring this epic
story to life on stage.
A production of this scale is never accomplished by the performers alone. We
were blessed with many generous volunteers who gave their time and talents
to create the beautiful costumes, sets, and props you will see tonight. Their
work behind the scenes has been essential, and we are deeply grateful for the
countless hours they invested in making this production possible.
Because this story comes from Scripture, we felt a deep responsibility to
present it with care and respect. While any theatrical adaptation must
condense and dramatize events—and the ending of the show takes some
creative liberty with the storytelling—we have worked intentionally to honor
the Biblical account and the powerful message it carries. At its heart, the story
of Moses reminds us that God often calls ordinary people to extraordinary
purposes, and that faith and courage can change the course of history. It is
our hope that this story encourages each of us to listen for God’s calling in
our own lives.
